I may have mentioned it before, but among my favorite artists are the Impressionists, especially Claude Monet. The images are recognizable but its more an impression (thus the term) than a realistic portrayal. In photography, especially in-camera photography, creating an image that's more of an impression than realistic is a bit more challenging. But it can be done - slower shutter speed, intentional camera movement. Subtle moves but more than possible. This photo was created as the beach near Manzanita, Oregon, this past spring. An experiment that had a favorable result, IMHO. Try it on your next photo journey.
