It's the new year (plus a week!), so its time to consider two of my upcoming workshops.
The first, Photo Composition and Creativity, will take place on three Thursday evenings, Feb. 4, 18, and a third at a date to be determined by the participants. Moving beyond the basics of camera operation, this workshop will focus on guidelines of successful composition and how and when to bend the rules, or break them big-time, to fully portray your vision. Lots of ideas presented and opportunities to share your successes and, well, less-than-successful attempts in a supportive environment. This is a private workshop (not through parks-and-rec), so contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org to register. $100.
The second is a full week workshop at the Ghost Ranch retreat and education center outside of Abiquiu, New Mexico. Entitled "Light & light: The Spiritual Practice of Photography," the working will focus on the spiritual aspects of Light and the photographic aspects of light. Through reading, presentation, field trips, and discussions, we'll come away with a better appreciation of that most primal element of our existence - light - and a better appreciation for the role of light in photography. Other than a photo of a black cat in a coal bin at night, light is THE critical element of photograph. Join me in New Mexico this October 2-8, for a one-of-a-kind experience in a startling beautiful setting. Details on costs, accommodations, etc. at: https://www.ghostranch.org/retreat/light-light-spiritual-practice-photography/.
Hope you can join me on one or both of these workshops. I'd be happy to answer any questions: email@example.com.
